God wants you to be blessed. We serve a God of More Than Enough!
Whenever God is just meeting your needs, it’s just a temporary doorway between where you just came from and where He’s taking you to.
1.Get Ready to Cross: Get Over It!
Joshua 1:1-3 "After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. 3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses."
You MUST get over your past. The faster you can get over it, the faster you can move into the next phase of your destiny. Not only does God want you to get over it, everyone else who knows you wants you to get over it too!
2. Prepare Yourself
Joshua 1:8 "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."
Know what God said!
Do what God said!
Speak what God said!
Turn On Your Navigation
- Know where you are. Stop being in denial. If you don’t know, you better ask somebody.
- Know where you’ve been so you don’t come upon something that looks new from the outside, but once you dig deeper you realize it’s a carbon copy of what you just came out of (like ending up with the same type of person, relationship after relationship).
- Know where you’re going. Change your mind today, so that you can begin to see yourself where you want to be tomorrow. Your thoughts (good or bad) have brought you into the situation you’re facing today. Once you understand that, changing your thoughts can help you to create the future you want. “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Prov. 23:7). Know that God will be with you wherever you go.
3. Possess It!
Take what you want from what God has already provided.
Joshua 1:3 3 "I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses."
“All you have to do is walk up to the devil and take it. It doesn’t matter if the ungodly currently possesses it. God can move them out of the way so you can take possession. Proverbs 13:22 says “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for [the hands of] the righteous.” That not only includes financial wealth, but positions, homes, cars, etc.
4. Be Obedient and Willing
Joshua 1:16-18 16 Then they answered Joshua, “Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. 17 Just as we fully obeyed Moses, so we will obey you. Only may the Lord your God be with you as he was with Moses. 18 Whoever rebels against your word and does not obey it, whatever you may command them, will be put to death. Only be strong and courageous!”
You may have to kill some relationships in your life with people who are living contrary to you and who continually try to pull you into their foolishness.
5. Enjoy It
Joshua 22:1-4 Then Joshua summoned the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh 2 and said to them, “You have done all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded, and you have obeyed me in everything I commanded. 3 For a long time now—to this very day—you have not deserted your fellow Israelites but have carried out the mission the Lord your God gave you. 4 Now that the Lord your God has given them rest as he promised, return to your homes in the land that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side of the Jordan.
After you have obeyed and receive the promise, it’s time to enjoy it!
